Niira Radia, the Promoter & Chairperson of Nayati Healthcare & Research has started a movement, a movement to transform the way healthcare is looked at in India. She launched her organisation in 2012 with the philosophy that people in tier II & tier III cities have an equal right to quality healthcare. The norm in India has been such that for super specialist treatment, the patient is mostly expected to travel 100-300 km to the nearest metros. Such a journey is physically, mentally and financially taxing for the patients and their families.
Keeping this in mind, she started Nayati Healthcare in 2012, an establishment directed towards making tertiary healthcare accessible, affordable and accountable in Tier-II and III cities.
The transformational journey
Born in Kenya and brought up in London, Niira is a religious person who frequently visits holy shrines. A trip to Badrinath (a place of religious significance) is a spiritual reward for many; for Niira Radia, though, it proved more than just spiritual rewards, it was a transformational journey.
The organization had a humble beginning; a mere 4 Mobile Medical Units and 36 paramedics and doctors, aimed at providing profoundly needed treatment to the residents and pilgrims of Badrinath. Within a span of five years, however, two hospitals- a 351 bedded cutting edge super specialty hospital, Nayati Medicity in the land of Sri Krishna, Mathura and an extension of that Nayati Hospital in Agra.
